The Glendora Youth Football and Cheer Organization (GYFAC) invests a significant portion of the registration fees into the operations of the program well before the first practice of the season. These operational costs include, but are not limited to, league fees, insurance, equipment refurbishing, new equipment purchases (including uniforms), city facility fees, and other program necessities. By completing registration and paying the required fees, you enable GYFAC to begin procuring equipment and covering season expenses for your child. However, we recognize that unforeseen circumstances may occasionally lead to a participant withdrawing from the program.
Refunds will be issues based on the following guidelines, with no exceptions:
Refund Eligibility Before Final Registration Deadline
If you withdraw your child prior to the last sign-up date in May, you are entitled to a refund minus a $150 administrative fee.
Roster Cap Withdrawals
If your child is withdrawn after GYFAC has issued a cut contract due to reaching roster capacity, no refund will be issued. This cut contract date may occur earlier than the deadline stated above.
Academic Ineligibility and Absenteeism
No refunds will be provided if a participant fails to meet the required 2.0 GPA before the season starts, exhibits chronic absenteeism, or voluntarily leaves to pursue another sport.
Injury Refunds
If your child is injured and cannot continue prior to the first day of practice/conditioning, you are eligible for a refund minus a $150 administrative fee, provided all GYFAC-owned equipment is returned promptly. A doctor-documented injury is required to qualify for this refund. Injuries sustained after the season begins are not eligible for a refund.
Personality Conflicts
No refunds will be granted if you withdraw your child due to disputes or disagreements with coaches, staff, or the GYFAC Board.
Academic Standards
Maintaining academic excellence is a cornerstone of San Gabriel Valley Junior All American and GYFAC. If your child's GPA falls below 2.0 during season, participation will be revoked, and no refund will provided.
Parental Misconduct
If a parent is removed from the program for misconduct, including violations of the Adult Code of Conduct, no refund will be issued.
Discipline Issues
Youth sports aim to teach discipline and teamwork. If a participant is removed for being unruly, demonstrates excessively disruptive behavior, or violates Code of Conduct, no refund will be provided.
Post-Certification Withdrawals
Once Certification Day is completed, any withdrawals (e.g., due to GPA failure, post-certification injuries, or disputes) are not eligible for a refund.
Equipment Return Requirement
Refunds will only be issued once all GYFAC-owned equipment is returned in good condition.
The cost of replacing unreturned equipment is a significant expense for the Glendora Youth Football and Cheer program. Regardless of refund eligibility, you are responsible for returning all GYFAC-issued equipment in good condition. Failure to do so may result in financial liability, including collection or legal action to recover equipment or costs.
Payment of Refunds
Refunds will be issued within 65 days after all GYFAC-owned equipment is returned. Equipment must be returned within two weeks of withdrawal from the program. Failure to return equipment negates eligibility for any refund.
This policy ensures the sustainability of the GYFAC program while maintaining fairness and clarity for all participants.
